Edgebander End Trimming Station

The End Trimming Station on an edgebander is responsible for precisely cutting off excess edge banding at both the leading and trailing edges of the panel. This ensures a clean, flush finish and prevents overhanging material from affecting the panel’s final appearance.

Function & Purpose:

  1. Removes Excess Edge Banding – Trims the front and rear overhang of the edge band.
  2. Creates a Flush Finish – Ensures the edge banding aligns perfectly with the panel’s length.
  3. Enhances Aesthetics & Durability – Eliminates sharp overhangs that could lead to peeling or damage.

How It Works:

  • After the edge banding is applied and pressed, the panel enters the end trimming station.
  • High-speed rotating saws or knives precisely cut the excess edge banding.
  • Pneumatic or servo-controlled trimming units ensure accurate, consistent cuts.
  • Adjustable cutting angles allow for straight or slightly beveled cuts, depending on the required finish.

  1. High-Speed Trimming Blades / Saws – Cuts excess edge banding at the front and rear of the panel.
  2. Pneumatic / Servo Control System – Ensures precise cutting and adjustable trimming settings.
  3. Angle Adjustment Mechanism – Allows for straight (90°) or beveled (10–15°) cuts for a smooth transition.
  4. Waste Extraction System – Removes trimmed-off material to keep the work area clean.

Types of End Trimming Cuts:

  • Straight Cut (90°): Standard flush finish.
  • Beveled Cut (10–15°): Slight angle for a softer edge transition.
  • Radius Cut (Optional in some models): Helps blend the edge smoothly.
